Montana grew up in Chicago Illinois and moved to Los Angeles at age 22 upon graduation from Columbia College Chicago after receiving a Bachelors in Film.
After working in the film industry for years, Montana began to expand his creative expression onto canvases. Inspired by the street art of Los Angeles, his mixed media style pulls from the bright colors of graffiti as well as rigid industrial aesthetics seen within the everyday world of the city. All of his work holds a story behind it and often is centered around an individual. Much of his work revolves around the complexities of the human self and how split we can be from one moment to another.
Some of Montana’s favorite influences in his work come from Classical Greek sculptures, renaissance masters, Shepard Fairey, Banksy and the everyday street art seen in LA.
In June of 2022 Montana held his first solo art show in LA titled YOU YOU YOU ARE HERE which showcased his range as an artist and sold half of his collection in one night.
